August 5 - Ernst Strikes Back (with a book)!

Two days after the announcement by the Gravel Road import label that they will release two CDs entitled "Love American Style" and "The Hit That Saves The Day" - containing 1976 shows recorded in Chicago - Ernst Jorgensen strikes back with the announcement that these two shows will be released officially on the Follow That Dream Collectors label this fall.

"We were yesterday informed of an upcoming bootleg of Elvis two 1976 concerts in Chicago - produced by the usual  suspects.

The exact same concerts are on FTD's fall release  schedule - the next soundboard release after the Boston show. Confronted with the question whether we were releasing this or not, it only made sense to confirm."

Elvis: By Those Who Knew Him Best

A new biography entitled "Elvis: By Those Who Knew Him Best" by Rose Clayon was announced. This 448 pages book is due December 31, 2010 from Virgin Books. The book was originally released in 1994..

From the press-release:

"Elvis died on 16 August 1977. He was just 42 years of age and had been the first global superstar of the rock'n'roll era: the King. An eager world followed his every appearance, flocked to his movies and bought his records in the millions.

But what was he like as a colleague, as a friend, as a brother, as a lover? Imagine Elvis's relatives, friends, musical colleagues and business associates gathering to remember him and swap stories about him. In this close-up and intimate oral biography, that's just what nearly one hundred and fifty of them do, many of them speaking for the first time."
