November 20 - A Bicentennial Super Audio Christmas

The Millbranch Music importlabel announced the release of volume 5 in their "Bicentennial King" series.

From the press release:
Introducing the fifth release on a label by the name of Millbranch Music here is another complete performance by Elvis Presley in the year of 1976. This time we chose to release a complete recording of Elvis´ performance from May 6, 1976. This very long show (more than 90 minutes) would not fit on one cd so this release simply has to be a 2 CD set.
Out by December 7, 2012 this will be factory pressed, limited to only 300 copies with an 8 page booklet containing lots of photos and information regarding Elvis´ last concert series in Lake Tahoe. The sound is very good for an audience recording and Elvis is delivering a decent show with some rare songs, being in good spirits. This concert has NOT been released yet on factory pressed cd. All you fans out there know what to expect from Elvis´ 76 Lake Tahoe performances - so if you are interested be advised to get your copy as soon as you can.

Top 50 Country Christmas Song

Elvis' song "Blue Christmas" is getting top honors from TasteofCountry.com. The Christmas classic is listed at #5 in the "Top 50 Country Christmas Songs." According to Taste of Country, "Blue Christmas" is among the most-covered Christmas songs and originates from the top-selling holiday album of all time, "Elvis' Christmas Album." Elvis received his first Diamond Award for the 1970 version of this album during Elvis Week 2012.

When originally released, “Elvis’ Christmas Album” spent four weeks at #1 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart, and was the first of two Christmas-themed albums the king would record. The original version of this album was the fourth album by Elvis released in October of 1957, now certified as triple platinum.

Other Christmas favorites included in the top 50 are Gene Autry's "Rudolph, the Red Nose Reindeer" and Merle Haggard's "If We Make It Through December," among many others.
