December 21 - Rebirth Of Elvis

Three new import releases were announced by the Elvis One label; "Pure And Simple" with Elvis without backing vocals or overdubs, and in the Genre Collection the "Gospel" and "Rock And Roll" alternate takes compilations.

Details "Elvis Pure And Simple":
It's time for change, in the same style as the albums 'If I Can Dream', 'The Wonder Of You' and 'Elvis Christmas' comes the album 'Elvis Pure & Simple' showcasing Elvis Presley without backing vocals or overdubs, the pure sound of Elvis Presley.
The album contains original masters but also some alternate versions. In most of the studio sessions the backing musicians were there with Elvis and Elvis was singing along with them – yet here these vocals are faded out if they were present. A total of 15 stunning songs! Including a 12 pages booklet with photos and recording information. Just Elvis singing as he did in the recording studio, the pure Elvis without additional accompaniment.

Elvis: The Rebirth of the King

The BBC announced a four hour documentary entitled "Elvis: The Rebirth of the King" for December 12, 2017:

"The widely accepted Elvis narrative is that The Vegas Period was the nadir of his career but this film argues that Elvis reached his peak, both as a singer and performer in the first few years of his Vegas period. He became, in those short years, the greatest performer on earth.

Elvis: Rebirth of The King, tracks this five year renaissance with some of his key musical and artistic collaborators of the period, including the creator of his most memorable jumpsuits, to celebrate the greatest pop reinvention of all time!"
